ICAP, the interdealer broker, has appointed John Barber as head of its information and data sales business, which is called ICAP Information Services.

Barber was previously deputy managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Telerate, the fixed income service now owned by Moneyline. He left in 1998 when the Intercapital Group hired him to head its software division, Dart, where he improved profitability significantly.
