Icelandic banks continue economic saga

The country's banks have come a long way but think they can go even further

Icelandic banks have continued to expand, despite the global woes in credit markets.

Kaupthing, an Icelandic financial group, bought Dutch bank NIBC for €3bn ($4.2bn) in August after the latter revealed its annual profits had been wiped out by the sub-prime crisis that month.
