IMA backs Parliament ruling

The Investment Management Association, a UK trade body, has backed a decision by the House of Lords to delete a clause in legislation that could have required institutional investors to disclose how they vote.

Under the original terms of the Company Law Reform Bill, the UK Treasury would have had the power to require investors such as asset management companies to reveal publicly how they had cast their vote at company general meetings.
