Amlin, a Lloyd's insurer, has appointed Jayne Thorburn as chief investment officer responsible for guiding investment strategy, asset allocation and fund manager performance.

Thorburn was previously head of international equities at Halifax Fund Management. Amlin has over £1bn in assets under management in its investment portfolio.
