In brief: GL hires/Commerzbank licenses/Penson launches

GL Trade, the Paris-based broking software firm, has made two new appointments in its London-based back office division, GL Settle. Nicolas Lévy formerly executive vice president and head of marketing and communications has been appointed chief executive and Teifion Thomas, chief technology officer. Thomas was managing director of Unify Solutions, a capital markets consultantcy. GL Settle was formed by GL Trade's purchase of Misys Securities Trading Systems last November.
