Principal Global Investors has appointed Grant Forster as chief executive for its London-based European operations.

Forster replaces Kirk West who has moved back to Australia to serve as the firm's country head there. Forster has been with Principal since 1999. He started as director of institutional marketing and client service in the firm's head office in Des Moines, Iowa. Before that he worked in Hong Kong for a company that was the predecessor to Principal.
