Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has hired Phil Chappell as an investment director in its US team.

Chappell was most recently at Schroder Investment Management, where he was a director of US equities until May this year. At Schroders he managed a range of US funds and a team of managers. Previously, Chappell was a senior US fund manager at Perpetual, where he worked for 17 years. Chappell will report to Graham Wood, investment director and head of global sectors and international research.
