ING selects veteran Steven van Rijswijk as new chief executive

His predecessor Ralph Hamers is leaving the Dutch bank to lead UBS in November

Dutch bank ING has announced that Steven van Rijswijk will succeed Ralph Hamers as its chief executive, who is set to become the new leader of UBS in November.

Van Rijswijk, who heads up the bank’s risk operation and a 25-year ING veteran, will take over from Hamers on 1 July.
