Instinet hires electronic trading sales head

Instinet, the equities agency broker owned by Japanese bank Nomura, has brought in a former Deutsche Bank electronic trading specialist as its new head of international electronic sales.

Greg Treacy joins the firm in New York, with a remit to expand sales of Instinet's algorithmic and electronic trading services to US clients trading globally, according to a statement from the firm. His hire comes at a crucial time for the firm, as it looks to take advantage of new European rules that will bring wide-reaching changes to the trading landscape.
