Mark Barnett, head of UK equities at Invesco and manager of £8.9bn in two flagship UK retail funds, has issued a strenuous denial that his portfolios might run into the same liquidity issues that felled Neil Woodford, his predecessor running the same funds.

In a note to investors published on November 8, Barnett wrote that “recently expressed concerns around liquidity, and comparisons made to Woodford Investment Management, are misplaced”.
