Investec buys Australian boutique Wentworth

Investec is on the hunt for further acquisitions in funds management and stockbroking in Australia after the South African group said it would take control of boutique corporate advisory house Wentworth Associates.

Farrel Meltzer, managing director at Investec in Australia, said that the group was scouting for funds management businesses with assets under management of up to $500m (€541.5m) and would look at stockbroking businesses with established private client lists.
