Investment banking decline hits Morgan Stanley

M&A revenues down by 60%

Morgan Stanley's investment banking and securities business deteriorated sharply in the third quarter, leading the company's profits down by 17%.

Poor performances in Morgan Stanley's mergers and acquisitions advisory business, its underwriting business and trading sent securities and investment banking profits down to $265m (€272m), a 36% fall on the same period last year.
