Investment banks suffer slump in sponsor fees

Investment banking revenue from global private equity activity declined 37% last year due to the severe decline in buyout volume and exits for portfolio companies.

Overall, investment banks earned $3.8bn (€2.7bn) in private equity-related revenue last year compared with $6.1bn in 2008, according to data provider Dealogic.
