Innovative Drug Delivery Systems, a New York-based pharmaceutical company, has become the first company to file for an initial public offering in the US this year.

Thomas Weisel Partners, a US merchant bank specialising in growth sectors, is leading the offer on Nasdaq. It is expected to raise up to $69m (€77m). Local firm Wells Fargo Van Kasper is co-manager.
