Island signs up to Nasdaq's new platform

Island, the US alternative equity trading network, has signed up to join SuperMontage, Nasdaq's much-hyped new trading platform that is scheduled for launch this summer.

Island's decision to sign up to SuperMontage is a boost for Nasdaq. There had been a question over whether or not it and other electronic communications networks (ECNs) would join the platform, which is voluntary. It is not yet clear whether others will follow.
