IT glitch hits Eurex for five hours

Some Eurex customers were unable to trade this morning for a period of five hours, when IT infrastructure problems prevented individual users from connecting to the exchange.

Eurex, which is owned by Deutsche Börse, was alerted to the problem during the pre-trading phase, which normally begins at 05.30 GMT, and lasts for one and a half hours.
