It’s Boris’s Brexit deadline day, but Goldman still expects a ‘thin’ deal with EU

The UK's chief negotiator David Frost is advising the prime minister against walking away from the talks

Goldman Sachs said it expects the UK and EU will still strike a “thin” Brexit deal and get it ratified before the end of the year, but the threat of a no-deal Brexit remains real.

The bank said its “core view” is that a “‘thin zero-tariff, zero-quota trade agreement will likely be struck by early November, and subsequently ratified by the end of the year”.
