The former chief executive of Africa Private Equity Fund Managers has joined African buyout firm Jacana in the newly-created role of chief investment officer, amid signs of consolidation in the sub-Saharan buyout market.

In a statement, a spokeswoman for African growth capital firm Jacana Partners said that former APEFM chief executive Shaun Collyer would be joining the firm in the newly created role of chief investment officer.
