Leading Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg has called for the UK government to rethink the remit of the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority after the country’s exit from the European Union.

Rees-Mogg told Financial News that the mandate of the UK’s top markets watchdog should be broadened so that it focuses as much on promoting competition in the City of London, as it does on policing the conduct of financial services firms and their employees.
