Janus institutional asset manager resigns

The managing director of Janus Capital Group's institutional asset management division has resigned from the US mutual funds manager to form his own company.

John Zimmerman is scheduled to leave the job tomorrow, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. He is starting a third party distribution and marketing firm in the institutional market. Gary Black, the chief executive of the the Denver, Colorado-based company, will oversee the position in the interim while the firm looks for a successor.
