Japanese bourses overhaul technology for derivatives

Two main Tokyo exchanges are to overhaul their derivatives trading and clearing systems, in a bid to fend off other regional bourses which are trying to muscle in on their market share.

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange, a precious metals and energy futures and options bourse, announced today that it will use an integrated trading and clearing system, delivered by OMX, the Nordic stock operator.
