Japan bourses seek antitrust clearance for merger

Japan's two largest stock exchanges said on Wednesday that they have submitted a merger application to the country's antitrust watchdog, according to Dow Jones. In a statement, the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Securities Exchange also formally applied for a legal framework that would help accelerate their bid to become the world's third largest bourse operator in terms of market value of traded companies.
