Japanese telecom boosts European expansion with bond sale

NTT DoCoMo, the Japanese telecoms firm, has boosted its prospects of a healthy expansion into Europe following the success of its third debt deal of the year.

The company, which is the biggest mobile operator in Japan, has raised Y80bn ($656m) from a five-year debt issue via joint lead managers Nomura Securities and Goldman Sachs. A further nine banks also worked on the bond sale as joint lead managers.
