Jefferies & Company, the US middle market investment bank which is making a push into European corporate finance, has appointed Roy Furman as vice-chairman.
Furman was co-founder and president of Furman Selz, a US bank, and became vice-chairman of ING Barings in the US after it acquired Furman Selz in 1997. He left following ABN Amro's acquisition of ING's US prime brokerage, corporate finance, domestic equities and futures and options businesses for $275m (€309.9m), which was completed last month.
