Jefferies said on Friday it had made five new hires, including three from Royal Bank of Scotland.

The most high-profile of these is Sherry Liu, who joins the securities and investment banking company as Asia chairman and vice chairman, global investment-banking. Liu, who was previously chairman and chief executive of RBS China, left the UK bank in August.
