Jefferies has named a former managing director at the world's largest fund manager, BlackRock, as its new head of European equity capital markets, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Rob Leach will join Jefferies on December 7, the person said. He replaces Reinout Koopmans, who the person added has left the firm to pursue other opportunities.
