Investment bank Jefferies is understood to be shutting the asset management corporate advisory division that it acquired three years ago, and is set to part company with sector veterans Kevin Pakenham and Aaron Dorr.

Jefferies is making the move, according to three sources, after embarking on a drive to build up a comprehensive investment banking business led by Benjamin Lorello. One banker said further streamlining of the business could be on the cards.
