Optiver veteran to retire after 20 years

Jelle Elzinga, a key backer of alternative venues such as Chi-X Europe, is to step down from the Dutch marketmaking firm

Jelle Elzinga, a 20-year veteran of Dutch marketmaking firm Optiver – and a key backer of electronic trading venues such as Chi-X Europe and The Order Machine – is to leave the firm.

Elzinga, 42, Optiver's global head of market structure and a member of its global management committee, has advised the firm's board of his intention to retire and will leave at the end of this year.
