Barclays Capital has appointed James Morrison as a director in its commodities group. Morrison joins Barclays from Rabobank.

Lehman Brothers has hired Maarten van Berckel and Bob Elfring from MeesPierson. Elfring and van Berkel will join Lehman as managing directors of the Benelux-region team. Berwin Leighton has added four new faces to its corporate finance team from City-based Edward Lewis. Julian Fellerman and Murdoch Currie will partner the new team. In addition, Michael Walker and Eleanor Morgan will join as associates. Stephen Barrett has been appointed vice-chairman at KPMG Corporate Finance. Barret was formerly a senior director at Lloyds Merchant Bank. He is responsible for developing larger ticket transactions on an international basis. Close Brothers Corporate Finance has hired Simon Steward away from BT Laboratories. Steward joins Close Brothers as an assistant director of its technology group.
