Aberdeen Asset Management's global head of distribution is stepping down from the post, after playing a key role in integrating the firm's £550 million March 2014 acquisition of Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.

John Brett joined Swip as legal, risk and compliance director more than a decade ago before becoming its sales and marketing director in 2010. He left to become head of distribution at Aberdeen in November 2011. He also became a member of Aberdeen's group management board.
