Malcolm Jones, former head of fixed income at Aegon Asset Management, has joined rival fund manager Standard Life Investments.

Jones, who spent 17 years at Aegon before his sudden departure earlier this year, will take on a new role of developing Standard Life's fixed-income business for clients and investment consultants. He will work closely with Rod Paris, head of global fixed interest, and Andrew Sutherland, head of credit. Jones will report to George Walker, head of UK institutional business development.
