JP Morgan has hired four traders and a salesman for its global currency and commodities group as part of an effort to strengthen its European business.

The hires come less than a week after the US bank recruited Andrew Simon, a former Lehman Brothers banker, as head of global clients in the group with responsibility for selling currency and commodity products across the world. He will join at the end of August, reporting to Jamie Bonic, European head of institutional sales.
