JPMorgan Asset Management has recruited one of the top advisers to UK chancellor Philip Hammond as its replacement for Stephanie Flanders, the high-profile economist who left the US fund house for Bloomberg in June.

Karen Ward, who has spent less than a year working at the Treasury, will join JPMorgan before the end of the year, the company said in a statement this morning.
