A  junior banker at a large US bank in the City recently lost his mother to Covid-19. Despite still grieving, he says he’s “working harder than ever”.

“I feel undervalued,” he told Financial News on the condition of anonymity. “You work hard and the long hours you put in are not recognised. There’s also a blame culture aimed at juniors when things go wrong.”
