JPMorgan has promoted a long-serving dealmaker to head up its equity capital markets business in the UK, in a rare example of a woman leading a major business line at an investment bank in the City.

Virginie de Grivel Nigam has been named head of UK and Ireland ECM at JPMorgan, according to a memo seen by Financial News. She will replace Barry Meyers, who is leaving the bank for a role outside banking.
