JP Morgan's traders returned to form in the first three months of the year, as volatility across global markets helped its fixed income and equities units recover from a painful 2017.

The Wall Street bank on Friday reported a 35% jump in group net profits to $8.7bn. Revenues for the period were 12% up at almost $28bn.
