JPMorgan shakes up team in push for private deals

Banks have been beefing up their private capital divisions as companies stay away from public markets

JPMorgan has named a new co-head for its team of bankers advising private companies on raising capital; one of a number of investment banks building up this area as high-growth tech companies increasingly steer clear of public markets.

The US banking group has named Aloke Gupte as co-head of its ECM private placements group, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.
