Julius Baer, the independent private bank, has opened a new office in Brig, Switzerland, as the bank eyes growth in its home market.

The new branch will be managed by Marcel Kalbermatter, who joins from larger Swiss peer UBS. At UBS Kalbermatter held a number of senior positions and was most recently head of its branch in Brig.
