Edward Bonham Carter, the chief executive of Jupiter Asset Management, has appointed a veteran salesman from rival BlackRock as his chief lieutenant for distribution.

Maarten Slendebroek has joined Jupiter's board as an executive director responsible for distribution and strategy, according to a statement from the asset manager today.
