Jupiter Asset Management, the UK funds business bought out by its management three months ago, has hired a team to run a range of portfolios investing in the Indian subcontinent for the first time.

The team of four is led by Avinash Vazirani, who founded specialist Indian manager Peninsular Capital Partners in 2005.
