Kent council to receive £139m payout from Woodford fund

Announcement comes after fund administrator Link made first repayments to trapped investors yesterday

Kent County Council, the only local government pension scheme invested in Neil Woodford’s defunct flagship equity fund, has been told it will get £138.9m back from its original investment — some 42% less than the value of its holding when the fund was suspended.

The council pension scheme had been invested with the former star manager for more than a decade, having followed Woodford after he resigned from Invesco in 2014.
