Kirkland & Ellis’s three-partner raid of the Magic Circle over the past week was motivated by the US law firm’s desire to capitalise on the “untapped potential” of private equity infrastructure investment, insiders say.

The firm’s latest hire is Allen & Overy investment funds partner Paul Sampson, Kirkland confirmed on 29 September.
