US buyout giant Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has hired a senior dealmaker from energy-focused private equity firm Riverstone, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Haroun van Hövell, a London-based managing director at Riverstone, is set to join the New York-based firm in the New Year, the person said.
