KPN's future in doubt after merger collapse

KPN, the Dutch telecoms operator, has seen the value of its bonds fall dramatically since the proposed merger with Belgacom fell through.

The credit spreads, or risk premium demanded by investors for holding KPN's debt, took an instant hammering having contracted over the last week as some investors anticipated agreement between the Dutch company and its Belgian competitor.
