A black 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK230, bought new by Dannii Minogue, and subsequently passed on to her sister, Kylie, sold for £14,950 (€18,055) as one of the most fiercely contested bids at last week's Collectors' Motor Cars and Automobilia auction at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, held annually.

Friday's auction, conducted by London house Bonhams, saw several records broken: a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage convertible, one of only nine produced, sold for £551,500.
