Lancashire to plough £100m into hedge funds

The £3.5bn (€5bn) pension scheme run by the UK's Lancashire County Council has decided to make its first foray into hedge funds, allocating £100m to the investment class.

A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said it has put out a tender seeking proposals from fund of hedge fund managers. It expects to have awarded and funded the mandates in about nine months time.
