Laurent steps down at Calyon

The founding chairman of Calyon, the French investment bank formed out of the merger of Crédit Agricole and Crédit Lyonnais in 2003, has stepped down to take a new role promoting France's financial sector.

Calyon announced that Jean Laurent was stepping down as chairman following a board meeting in Paris yesterday, and the bank said Georges Pauget will replace him.
