Lazard Asset Management takes aim at emerging markets

Lazard Asset Management, a subsidiary of investment bank Lazard, has launched an emerging markets mutual fund to look for opportunities in discounted equities.

A source familiar with the fund said the Lazard Developing Markets Equity Portfolio would use a value investing strategy, which is the practise of picking shares that trade at less than the intrinsic value and are believed to be undervalued.
