Legal & General Investment Management, the funds arm of the UK insurer, has hired a former hedge fund executive as its new head of active European equities, tasked with rebuilding a team that left last August.

Ian King will join at the end of the month, with the aim of bringing the manager back to full strength in active European equities by the middle of the year.
