Legal & General has named a new chief of its General Insurance business, calling on the executive who helped build out its pensions de-risking business for the role.

Cheryl Agius, who was previously the head of the UK strategic pension risk transfer team, has been appointed as CEO of General Insurance, according to a December 9 statement.
